This past Wednesday the Howells Fire Company was one of about 25 departments from Orange and Sullivan County to help escort the Bloomingburg Fire Department into their new firehouse. The ceremony kicked off with neighboring companies lining up on Main St. and parading two by two past the old firehouse. As the last fire truck went past the old firehouse Bloomingburg apparatus pulled out of their bays for the very last time. With lights and sirens, the neighboring fire companies escorted Bloomingburg to their new firehouse located about a half mile away.
The residents of the Bloomingburg Fire District should be very proud of their new facility. As it looks it should be around for a very long time.
We wish all of are brothers and sisters of the Bloomingburg Fire Department the very best as we were honored to have been part of this special occasion.
The Officers and Members of the Howells Fire Company would like to congratulate the Bloomingburg Fire Company on their new firehouse.
